Benavidez vs Andrade

On November 25 2023 in Las Vegas. David “The Mexican Monster “Benavidez defeated Demitrius “Boo Boo” Andrade by sixth round TKO to retain his WBC super middle weight title. Benavidez improves his flawless record to 28-0 with 24 knock outs. Andrade suffered his first defeat to drop to 32-1 with 19 knock outs.

It was an electric night of boxing with two highly avoided undefeated fighters squaring off. Andrade came out throwing bombs, moving forward with straight right jabs and body shops. But Benavidez picked off and counter everything displaying his underrated defence.

In the third round, David Benavidez caught Andrade with a right hand that shifted the direction of the fight.

Benavidez then increased the pressure by cutting off the ring and applying more body and head shots. Andrade didn’t have an answer to the pressure. And Demetrius didn’t possess the power to gain Benavidez’s respect. After dominating the next few rounds, Andrade couldn’t answer the bell and Andrade’s corner called off.

David Benavidez is now the king of the super middle weight division. With his eyes on a mega fight with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. That fight will be one of the biggest fight in Mexican Boxing. But Canelo has been reluctant to ink a deal for this super fight. But it’s only a matter of time before the future hall of fame fights this budding superstar called “The Mexican Monster”.

Demetrius Andrade was strong in defeat, but Benavidez was too strong and too big to overcome. There are talks he may fight Caleb Plant next. Which ever opponent it may be, Andrade still has a lot left in the tank.
